Whiskeyjack Stonecrawler was the only child of Splitstone and Agathale Stonecrawler. Both his parents made their living digging exploratory tunnels on the perimeters of barren mines. These small crawl space passages were created to make sure that the mine was indeed dead. This being the case, Whiskeyjack’s family lived on the outskirts of their clan and often went weeks without any contact from any other humanoids. His mother Agathale was caught in a cave-in and died shortly after his 7th nameday. Splitstone raised Whiskeyjack as best he could but knew very little about anything other than tunneling and often brought him along with him into the tunnels or left him alone in their lair. Whiskeyjack learned little of hygiene or clan traditions but he did learn how to fend for himself in the tunnels and caverns of his mountain home. As he roamed and explored he often encountered dangerous creatures and usually killed them. As he bonded with the stone and earth Whiskeyjack soon became a skilled hunter and proved his worth to the clan as a protector and guardian. Recently a young dwarf girl went missing. When Whiskeyjack began tracking her he found a secret tunnel complex that led out of the mountain. As he followed the tracks he never found any signs of the girl and never once was able to determine what had taken her. For months he tracked them but he finally lost the trail at an old abandoned temple.
